San Sebastian Rio Hondo

After few days in Oaxaca City we came about 60 kms south of the city heading coast...But we stopped in the heart of the mountains...And stopped for 2 weeks! Cause we did a volunteer work there. We spent 2 weeks living in Indian town/village helping our host Anisha to create small, ecological farm there, in the mountains. In weekdays we work about 4 hrs daily digging in the garden, repearing fences, etc, in exchange of tasty and healthy, but very simple food and accommadation. Our village was situated about 2 500 metres below sea level, so at night it was quite cold, even about zero degrees, we had to put the fire in the fireplace...But during day it was at least 20-25 degrees...We enjoyed our time there, meeting a lot if local, indigenous people, talking with them, eating with them, etc...After this we headed to the seaside...before we go there we had to hitchhiked about 4 or 5 hours in truck o the pick up in the veeery curvy, mountainous road...But the landscapes were spectacular. We spent about 5 days on the seaside, sleeping in tent on the beach, maybe 20metres from the sea, for small money (bout 2 euro per night per person), eating fresh coconuts and fighting with huuuge waves. Excellent time!

Mole poblano

1.       After hiking on Malinche , which was amazing we moved to Oaxaca City, amazing city in the colourful state with the same name. It was also our first experience with hitchhiking in Mexico, which seemed to be extremely easy...We stopped one of these huge trucks, which you know from American movies. Always wanted to do so ;). Generally, hitchhiking in Mexico is a exceptional thing to describe, but it works pretty well, but also looks a  bit differently than in Europe. You ride quite often with a trucks drivers, which are – also quite often – drunk, so it could be dangerous...If you see them drunk its better to leave the car. But whats the best, and also very common its riding on the truck of the pick up cars...In some parts of the country pick ups are the most popular cars, not only in Mexico, also in Nicaragua, Salvador or Guatemala. People very often let you to ride in a truck. You don’t have any contact with them unfortunately but its save for you and them, and this is the reason why its so popular there, in places which are belevied to be dangerous...So you cant talk with a driver, but you have panoramic view for everything which sourrounds you which is incredible, especially in Oaxacan mountains. Anyway, we spent 4 days in our couchsurfing hosts in Oaxaca City exploring crowding city, local arts and food. Interesting food which is popular there is mole poblano, which is poltry meat with mole – some kind of souse made amon the thers, from chocolate, chilli and a lot of spices. Delicious dish!

Mexico!

1.       After few weeks in Poland (Xmas and New York Eve!), preparations, vaccinations, shopping, etc. we finally sat in plane to Spain. Why Spain, not Mexico? Firstly we had came to Madrid, to spent 3 days with friend of mine, who lived there, and just after it we had plane to Mexico. We adore Spain, so it was nice preparation before Mexico, especially I have never been to Madrid before. 12 hrs in plane to Mexico D.F. (Districo Federal – its very common name for the capitol of Mexico used by locals) was not so bad. Stuff was nice, food was fine jetlag better then we thought. We we landed we were scary a little bit – we knew that all these stories bout criminals and murderers weren’t true, but you – first time so far away from home. But D.F. turned out to be amazing, colourful city, not as dangerous as its said, with AMAZING cousine, full of green tomatoes, fresh coriander, tacos, meat and limes. With the biggest flag we ve ever seen on huge place in front of enormous Cathedral. Really worth to see it. After short stay in D.F. we moved to city of Puebla, laying pretty close to volcano Malinche, which is 4 461 m above sea level high.

Coming back after one year of break....

After one year of break I came back to my university, MY BLOG, my old reality. Actually it's not so bad as I though. After this year I have more ideas what I can do here in Poznan , my job makes me really happy (it's not so difficult think in good way about your job after working 5 months in UK, ofc salary is the only advantage of UKs job), I enjoy being with my friends and family...But lets start from the beginning.....
11.07.2014
We decided to come to UK and work a little bit to earn money for travelling. We knew its impossible for us to earn it in Poland, as its not so easy to earn for a living in the country, not even saying sbout saving. We wanted to save it as quick as its possible.
Mother of my boyfriend has a friend, which has a father living in Yorkshire, Northern England. Its quite complicated, a we weren’t sure how its gonna look, but the guy named Andrzej seemed to be one of the most hospitable person we’ve ever met. Helped us with finding job and stuff. So just after few days we started our job, which was pretty bad actually. Its nothing to be proud of – anyone can have this kinda job in UK, but it helped us a lot. Actually, it made our trip real. During our stay we bought fly ticket to Mexico, and then – from Costa Rica to Mexico (we wanted to come from Mexico to Costa Rica by land, then come back to Mexico by a plane, and then – to Europe) and started to think about travel. So...... we were working in the cosmetic factory. I don’t tell you the name of it, but I can say that in spite of fact that we were making handcreams for hundreds pounds for a jar it was terrible. But besides of working we visited Yorkshire and surroundings a bit. Weather was awful, but we’ve seen few nice things, like Ilkleys Moor (which inspired Emily Bronte to write Wuthering Heights), medieval city of York, Manchester, Leeds and – in the end of our stay in UK – London. So in general it wasn’t so bad (but job was!). After few months we had came back to Poland and started to prepare for Mexico/Central America trip.
